Flexibility at Your Fingertips – SmartStudio™ Design Tools
Pilgrim’s revolutionary business application configuration platform, SmartStudio™, minimizes the work a database administrator or “super user” needs to do. It gives the business analysts, with minimal training, the ability to easily and quickly produce tailored forms and workflow processes for their own organization. SmartStudio’s graphical user‐interface allows an organization to design all the necessary components and quickly produce and verify the application while raising the visibility of all the collected data for immediate real‐time reporting. This foundation is an evolution in business process design going beyond traditional toolkits and process modelers. It focuses on “business” by bringing all the power of compliance‐centric application creation into a single powerful platform, thus driving process improvement and significant efficiency gains.
SmartStudio’s out-of-the-box tools allow users to have complete control over form design, including preview capabilities, security measures and multi-lingual options. Additionally, unlimited new event tracking applications can be made accessible, such as safety incidents, environmental incidents, commitment tracking, legal-related issues, finance and purchasing. With SmartStudio, each configuration change is version-controlled, providing the ability to move forms and applications between environments or share across organizational divisions. SmartDesigner helps reduce the cost of ownership by expanding your existing SmartSolve investment through the addition of new quality and compliance business processes across your organization, and the elimination of information silos, disparate systems, and dependence on external solution tailoring and on-going enhancement maintenance costs.
Three components drive SmartStudio’s flexibility for the business user:
Build data: Users can add data fields to existing SmartSolve Entities (objects), define data types, and create new business application entities and relationships.
Design forms: Users can re‐design and build new forms, assign new entities to forms, and design original forms using the drag-and-drop graphical design feature.
Configure workflows: Users can extend business rules for out‐of‐the‐box entity workflows, perform dynamic task evaluation, and assign forms to tasks, as well as secure approvals where needed, define business rules and policies, and integrate processes.
