| Pilgrim Software Spearheads Formation of the Worldwide Blood Forum |
Tampa, FL – March 28, 2007 -- Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, today announced the formation of the Worldwide Blood Forum, an international consortium of Blood Services representatives. The members of this Forum will engage in ongoing dialogue to exchange recommendations for enhancing Pilgrim’s solutions to most effectively serve the current needs of its customers within the blood industry.
The members of the Forum, including North American and European blood organizations, will participate in discussions through a dedicated “Blood Services” community page on Pilgrim’s Technical Support website. The group also will meet face-to-face twice annually, both at Pilgrim’s annual user conference and the AABB annual meeting. This open communication will allow industry insiders to leverage their experiences and best practices for eventual application within Pilgrim’s ECQM solutions.
The overall goal of the Worldwide Blood Forum is to facilitate collaboration between blood organizations to result in more effective use of Pilgrim’s software tools in supporting the blood industry’s operations, and to drive future software enhancements that will promote the industry’s collective efficiencies.
“The Forum will essentially help mold the architecture of Pilgrim’s solutions through mutual assessment of the practical feature enhancements that best meet the industry’s quality and compliance needs,” said Prashanth Rajendran, Pilgrim’s Chief Operating Officer. “Forum members have practical, first-hand experience in applying our solutions to their day-to-day operations, and are best able to assess the future direction of the blood industry. Through their participation, Pilgrim will then be able to determine the future direction of its products.”
Founding Forum members are American Red Cross and Blood Systems, Inc. Participants, representing global organizations within the blood banking industry, include Florida Blood Services, BloodCenter of Wisconsin, South Texas Blood & Tissue Center, Community Blood Center of South Florida, Belgian Red Cross, Irish Blood Transfusion Services, and many others.
The Worldwide Blood Forum conducted its inaugural meeting at Fusion VI, Pilgrim’s annual user conference, held March 4-7 in St. Petersburg, FL. Future discussion will be conducted through the Forum’s community board and live via Webex sessions, as well as at the 2007 AABB convention.
