| Pilgrim Software Launches “Integrated Content Management” Adapter for Integration of SmartSolve Solution to 3rd-Party and Customer-Specific EDMS Systems |
Tampa, FL – June 5, 2008 -- Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, today announced the launch of its “Integrated Content Management” (ICM) Adapter for integration of SmartSolve® with 3rd-party Content Management solutions for increased information quality.
Organizations have invested heavily into enterprise content management systems such as EMC’s Documentum®, OpenText’s LiveLink®, etc., for their critical document storage, control and archival requirements across the enterprise. For companies that also require an ECQM software solution to address critical quality requirements, the need to reference documents stored in a 3rd-party content management systems process is absolutely essential.
“Many Pilgrim customers, who have bought into the vision of a highly integrated environment, purchase and implement the entire Pilgrim ECQM suite which includes SmartDoc, an enterprise-class document management system,” said Atulya Risal, Chief Technology Officer at Pilgrim Software. “Pilgrim has already developed all of the necessary connections between Pilgrim’s SmartDoc solution and the rest of its solutions such as Audit, Nonconformance Management, CAPA, and Training. However, there are some customers who wish to retain their current investment in their Content Management system and want to link the relevant documents as part of the processes managed by Pilgrim’s solution. This is where the ICM Adapter comes into play.
“The ICM adapter creates a bridge between the customer’s Content Management system and Pilgrim’s ECQM platform, leveraging all the integration that Pilgrim has already designed into its ECQM platform, thus providing the best of both worlds,” Risal said.
The ICM Adapter allows for customers to trade critical document-related information such as document specific attributes, referencing the source document information between the two systems. Information can be brought in to be referenced into the quality and compliance processes. When required, the appropriate information can be exposed to the Content Management solution.
