The Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin Adds SmartTrain and Additional Users for Their SmartSolve Solution
Tampa, FL -January 13, 2005 - Pilgrim Software, Inc., the leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management Solutions, announces that The Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin (The Blood Center) has purchased Pilgrim' SmartTrain and will integrate it with their other SmartSolve solutions to ensure employee training records and certifications are documented and tracked. With the increase in employees accessing the system, additional users were also purchased.
The Blood Center is highly regulated by several agencies including the FDA, AABB, OSHA and HIPAA. Their current system includes Excel, Access and Lotus Notes. These disparate systems cause compliance concerns for 21 CFR Part 11, coordination difficulties between collection centers, and quality assurance issues regarding traceability and tracking. The Blood Center will implement Pilgrim' SmartSolve web-based solutions to assure regulatory compliance and process improvement across the organization and at remote locations. As The Blood Center forges additional distribution partnerships, the complexity of management will be reduced.
SmartCAPA, their initial implementation, will reinforce The Blood Center's ncident identification, reporting, tracking and trending as well as root cause analysis, corrective action and effectiveness checks. SmartCAPA provides electronic incident reporting to the FDA for reportable errors. SmartCAPA integrates with SmartAudit when exceptions are noted during audits. SmartAudit manages audit functions such as checklists, observations, corrective actions, monitoring and scheduling. With SmartAudit, auditors can easily reference back to policies and procedures in SmartDoc, either to the latest or a specific revision.
The Blood Center will utilize SmartDoc to cost-effectively create, manage and share critical documents and best practices throughout their organization while electronically reviewing and approving documents and SOPs and tracking their sign-off and status. SmartDoc and SmartTrain work together to maintain training and certification records. Assessments are used to verify learning has occurred for SOPs and their revisions. SmartTrain proactively determines and responds to training needs and follow-ups on employees'certifications. When adding SmartTrain, additional user licenses were added to accommodate the growing number of employees who were accessing the system.
