Tampa, FL – October 3, 2006 – Pilgrim Software Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) solutions, announces that Sunrise Medical has gone live with the Supplier Focus module at Sunrise’s DeVilbiss manufacturing facility. The implementation was completed in a record-breaking five weeks.  Sunrise Medical is a global manufacturer of home medical equipment with the mission to improve people's lives by creating innovative, high quality products.  The DeVilbiss division, located in Somerset, PA, produces respiratory products for Sunrise. With the deployment of Pilgrim’s Supplier Focus module, Sunrise gains more control over the measurement of supplier quality costs and the management of supplier quality information.

The company had a manual inspection process in place, keeping actual measurements on paper, which enabled Sunrise to build up their supplier ratings but did not allow for trending analysis of specific failures that had occurred.  Further, the Somerset site had disparate systems for conducting inspections, nonconformances and corrective actions, leading to inefficiencies in key supplier processes.  In addition, Sunrise linked Supplier Focus with a new JDE/ERP system, that went live the same day, to become a fully-integrated part of its existing supply chain management system. 

“The integration of JDE and Pilgrim’s Supplier Focus will save Sunrise time and money by preventing nonconforming material from entering the DeVilbiss facility,” said Prashanth Rajendran, Pilgrim’s Chief Operating Officer.  “On its own, Supplier Focus will also reduce paper processes and integrate all supplier quality analysis requirements.  Through these enhancements, Sunrise will reduce manual labor costs, ensure product quality, increase time-to-market, and ultimately boost the company’s bottom line.”

As a proven out-of-the-box solution, Pilgrim’s Supplier Focus enables medical device manufacturers to manage online sampling plans and procedures, receiving inspections, supplier corrective actions, and supplier ratings/scorecards, analyses and performance reports.

Pilgrim will next work with Sunrise Medical to implement Supplier Focus in its Fresno, CA facility.
