Tampa, FL – January 2, 2007 – Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, announced today that Nihon Kohden America, Inc. (NKA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nihon Kohden Corporation of Japan, has purchased Pilgrim’s SmartSolve® system to support its regulatory compliance efforts, including its existing customer complaints handling process at its corporate headquarters in California.

Nihon Kohden America will implement Pilgrim’s SmartComplaints, as well as its SmartDoc solution for document management, SmartTrain to manage employee training scheduling and certification tracking, and SmartAudit to support its internal audit capabilities.

NKA also purchased Pilgrim’s SmartSolve Synchronization Agent (SSA) to allow for seamless data integration of existing business systems with Pilgrim’s SmartSolve® solution.  By automatically harmonizing data between the SmartSolve modules and NKA’s existing business systems, the potential for human labor and error costs are greatly reduced, and data currency and consistency are ensured. 

The first Pilgrim solution being implemented is SmartComplaints.  “With an automated complaints handling system, we aim to improve our overall complaints management process and to improve the efficiencies of our technical support team by at least 40 percent, by now being able to export data from business applications and optimize the actual process behind the forms,” said Kevin Standen, NKA’s National Support Services Manager, Monitoring Business Group.  Standen said in using SmartComplaints, the company also will more efficiently capture complaints from U.S. and Canadian customers at its California headquarters-based call center.

NKA selected Pilgrim Software’s out-of-the-box SmartSolve system not only for its integrated solutions’ inherent flexibility, but for its track record in helping support key management processes at other marquis-named companies in the Life Sciences, including pharmaceutical and biotech enterprises, blood-service organizations and other medical device companies.
