Kinetic Concepts Adds Synchronization Agent to SmartSolve® Solution

Tampa, FL – October 9, 2006 –
Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, announced today that Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (KCI), a global medical device company, has purchased Pilgrim’s SmartSolve Synchronization Agent (SSA), and its Active Directory Utility (ADU) option, to allow for seamless data integration of existing business systems with Pilgrim’s SmartSolve® solution.

SSA is Pilgrim’s integration product for SmartSolve.  SSA allows for the electronic merging and management of key business and user information from multiple systems through one central system.  By automatically harmonizing data between the SmartSolve modules and customers’ existing business systems, human labor and error costs are greatly reduced, and data currency and consistency are ensured.

The SmartSolve ADU is a central authentication system that works with SSA to enable an organization to automatically populate and update its active directory, and synchronize it with the SmartSolve database.

Earlier this year, KCI purchased Pilgrim’s SmartSolve suite to automate their compliance and quality management solutions.  The first module scheduled for production go live is SmartCAPA, an out-of-the-box CAPA management system that will enable KCI to streamline their regulatory processes and enhance its CAPA and complaint handling.  Through increased efficiencies, KCI will accelerate reaction time to customer demands, increase customer satisfaction and help the company achieve its “Customer First” Initiative.

“By utilizing SSA and ADU in conjunction with the SmartCAPA implementation, KCI is looking at the big picture --not only ensuring its products are of the highest quality and fully compliant, but expediting the exchange of key business data in real time,” said Prashanth Rajendran, Pilgrim’s Chief Operating Officer.   “Adopting SSA and ADU is a key component to KCI’s overall implementation strategy.  The organization will have the right information at the right time.”

KCI will begin implementing Pilgrim’s SmartComplaints after SmartCAPA goes live this fall.
