Genzyme Corporation Adds More Users for their Pilgrim SmartCAPA Solution

Tampa, FL – August 24, 2005 – Pilgrim Software, Inc., the leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management Solutions, announces that Genzyme Corporation has purchased additional users for their SmartCAPA solution.

To provide a common platform for managing deviations, resulting CAPA activities and to standardize global CAPA processes, Genzyme purchased SmartCAPA in 2003. The pilot for their Bio-Surgery and TMD divisions has been completed. The additional users will allow for the expansion for continuing global process management.

SmartCAPA is designed specifically to address the corrective action/preventive action, non-conformance processes and products, customer complaints and product return of an entire organization from the administrative office to the product floor. It manages the complete cycle off action from the detection phase to the final resolution of the issue.

“The SmartCAPA implementation at our 2 sites has been successful. With the additional users purchased, we will begin the expansion to our other sites. SmartCAPA has proven itself to be an excellent tool for initiating and resolving corrective and preventive actions. To identify root causes and prevent recurrence of the original action has been cost-effective. We’re also confident in our compliance with all the FDA requirements,” states Ben Greene, Sr. VP of Quality Assurance.

“We are always pleased when our customers expand the usage of our solution,” states Ami Utji, President and CEO of Pilgrim Software. “This affirms that customers such as Genzyme realize the benefits of a single tool that provides a solid common platform for globally managing deviations and resulting CAPA activities.”
