Tampa, FL – December 18, 2006 – Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, announced today that Gambro BCT has licensed Pilgrim’s SmartCAPA solution. 

Gambro BCT (Blood Component Technologies), a leader in automated blood collections, recently chose to automate its electronic device history records (eDHR) process. The company was looking to streamline its device history record creation and additionally, speed its nonconformance resolution procedures.  Gambro BCT’s leadership recognized that Pilgrim’s corrective and preventive action (CAPA) software, SmartCAPA, would be an integral part of this effort.

SmartCAPA is a closed-loop management system that tracks and manages non-conformances, incidents, discrepancies and other quality concerns. Through the configurable reporting capabilities, SmartCAPA provides real-time visibility to management for trending regulatory issues and areas of improvement, and making timely, informed decisions. E-mail notification and best practice workflows facilitate collaboration among responsible individuals within the organization for quick resolution.

Through automation with Pilgrim’s full-featured CAPA tracking system, Gambro BCT will enhance its record management and processing, and boost its CAPA management efforts, without the need to take on a completely separate CAPA system.  SmartCAPA will work in tandem with Camstar’s eDHR automation to most effectively function with minimal ongoing maintenance.  The initial implementation will be executed on Gambro BCT’s shop floor, with additional plans to expand SmartCAPA’s use to other areas including internal audit tracking and supplier CAPA tracking.
