Community Blood Centers of South Florida (CBCSF) Goes Live with Pilgrim Software's SmartCAPA
Tampa, FL, May 25, 2005 – Pilgrim Software, Inc., the leading provider of Enterprise Quality and Compliance Management solutions, today announced that Community Blood Centers of South Florida, Inc. (CBCSF) has gone live with Pilgrim Software’s SmartCAPA quality solution.
As a provider of over 75% of the blood transfusion needs for Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, CBCSF has been providing hospitals and other healthcare facilities with blood and blood products since 1975, and currently operates 18 donor centers in the quad-county area.
“Selecting SmartSolve to manage our quality has proven to be the correct decision,” expressed Sharon Edie, Director of Quality at CBCSF. “Everyone is concerned about the safety of the blood supply and hence, there is increased pressure from the regulators for the blood providers to look at the business to ensure that processes and procedures are in place and followed.”
SmartSolve is a suite of Web-based enterprise quality and compliance solutions built on Microsoft .NET technology. SmartCAPA is a nonconformance/customer complaint and deviation management solution, SmartDoc is an electronic document management system, SmartAudit is an internal and external audit application and SmartTrain is a training management and skill set verification system. All integrate to bring a closed loop quality solution.
Pilgrim’s Professional Services team implemented SmartCAPA at CBCSF not only meeting the projected timeline but also within the stated budget. “We are live with SmartCAPA and with this solution, we can now evaluate the effectiveness of our quality and compliance,” stated Edie.
Lance Reed, Chief Information Officer for CBCSF, stated “Pilgrim’s SmartSolve solution is implemented as a single instance application. We have 7 Collection Areas and 6 departments using the system. Moving to an automated web based CAPA system will significantly reduce the current cumbersome paper process”
“We congratulate CBCSF on going live and are excited to play a part in helping CBCSF achieve its quality and compliance goals,” said Prashanth Rajendran, Pilgrim Software’s Chief Operating Officer. “We have found that the blood services industry is in need of an integrated quality and compliance management solution that is rich in domain expertise – and Pilgrim is proud that the industry has overwhelmingly selected and standardized on SmartSolve as its quality and compliance management solution.”
