Tampa, FL - February 1, 2005 - Pilgrim Software, Inc. announces that Belgian Red Cross (BRC), Blood Services Division, has selected Pilgrim's SmartSolve's SmartAudit, SmartCAPA, SmartDoc, SmartTrain and Q&MIS Calibration System to support BRC's enterprise-wide quality assurance processes and facilitate continuous improvement. The system will be used across four blood processing centers and at BRC's Blood Services Headquarters in Mechelen, Belgium.

BRC currently has a centrally coordinated Quality Assurance Department with local representatives in each of the four blood processing centers. Quality procedures are developed and implemented at an organization-wide level to define standards and ensure that quality objectives are met. To improve and standardize quality assurance processes, BRC selected Pilgrim's integrated, enterprise-wide solution.

The SmartSolve modules will provide enterprise-wise solutions. SmartDoc allows global access to electronically stored documents and SOPs, eliminating the need for CD distribution and the use of document binders. SmartCAPA replaces BRC's current manual system, increasing efficiency and automating the creation, investigating, and root cause analysis of complaints. BRC regularly participates in third party audits; currently, the key processing departments (donation, laboratory, processing) are self-audited based on checklists. SmartAudit provides the tools to benchmark their performance against internal, industry and regulatory requirements. BRC can quickly take decisive action to reduce risk and ensure global compliance. SmartTrain alleviates the awkwardness and unreliability of a manual system. Past trainings and certification history will be available to assure that employees are well-matched and qualified for the job they are assigned. Anticipated training is easily scheduled to assure everyone is brought up to date on the organization's SOPs.

BRC selected Pilgrim's Q&MIS Calibration System to reduce the time and labor tracking calibration records of BRC's extensive equipment inventory. Equipment calibration with internal personnel and contractors is easily scheduled.
