Aerojet Selects Pilgrim Software as ECQM Provider for Arkansas Manufacturing Site
Tampa, FL – March 20, 2007 -- Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, today announced that Aerojet, a GenCorp, Inc. (NYSE: GY) space and defense contracting company, has selected Pilgrim Software’s Enterprise Quality Management System (Q&MIS) to support its supplier and internal quality management processes at its Camden, AR propulsion systems facility. The Arkansas facility will be the third Aerojet site to implement Pilgrim’s Q&MIS modules, further enhancing the company’s overall quality management efforts.
Aerojet will implement Pilgrim’s Supplier Focus module to strengthen its ability to evaluate incoming materials and improve overall supplier tracking. The company also will implement Pilgrim’s Internal Focus module to improve its internal business processes, and the WebCAR solution for effectively tracking non-conformances and ensuring that corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
With these solutions, Aerojet’s suppliers will be able to provide more timely responses to corrective action requests. Through electronic data sharing, Aerojet can reduce time spent on manual data entry, reduce the risk of human error, and gain immediate visibility into the status of correction action requests and resolution, thus reducing the overall cycle of corrective action process.
“Historically, our supplier quality metrics and non-conformance data has been located in several different databases, and it would take days to consolidate that data so we could determine corrective action steps,” said Greg Paxton, Aerojet’s Director of Product & Mission Assurance. “The Pilgrim Enterprise Quality solution will provide real-time observations of Aerojet’s quality metrics for the Camden location, including identification of non-conformances and insights into supplier ratings.”
“As a leader in defense and aerospace propulsion systems, it is critical that Aerojet have in place an automated quality management system,” said Nikki Willet, Pilgrim’s Vice President of Marketing and Regulatory Products. “These quality solutions will enable Aerojet to drill down into supplier and internal issues, thereby enabling the company’s Quality teams to perform root-cause analyses, electronically identify, document and track non-conformances and dispositions, and ensure that inspections are executed based on established criteria. The end result will be more efficient and effective management of critical processes, ultimately reducing production costs and speeding product time-to-market.”
